What are EIPP, EIP and EBPP?
Enliven's line of products are commonly referred to as electronic billing, EIPP, EIP or EBPP

Electronic billing is the electronic delivery and presentation of statements, bills, invoices, and related information sent by a company to its customers. Electronic billing is also referred to as the following:

  • e-billing
  • EIPP - electronic invoice presentment and payment

Is Enliven’s Fidesic product a replacement to my accounting system?
No, Enliven's EIPP solution compliments your accounting system.  It works alongside your accounting system by helping bridge the gap between supplier's financial systems and buyer's financial systems, e.g. by allowing vendors to send invoices electronically to their buyers.  Also, Enliven provides a "customer account center" and a "vendor account center" for you to provide your customers and vendors.  Typical accounting sytsems do not come with this functionality.

My accounting system already automates AR and AP, why do I need Fidesic?
Because typical accounting systems do not offer a true fully functional paperless AR and AP solution that provides a self-serve portal to your vendors and customers, and allow various trading partners to benefit from being able to trade financial documents seamlessly.  The main reason for this is that various companies use different financial systems, and interoperability between accounting systems can be provided by Enliven's EIPP system.

What software components do I have to install?
This depends on which service you are signed-up for, and your accounting system.  For Dynamics GP users, you get a Fidesic for Dynamics module that you install.  This adds a few windows inside Dynamics GP, and you are good to go. Typically, this install takes less than 5 minutes, and does not require IT personnel.
If you are using other accounting systems, Enliven provides you with the Fidesic print-to-web module, which allows your Windows-based accounting system to support the distribution of electronic invoices.

Do I need a server to host the system?
No, you do not.  Enliven provides hosting for the web portal for your customer account center, vendor account center, and your company portal - where your AR and AP personnel can view transactions online.

I can already simply attach a PDF file to an email for delivering invoices, why do I need Fidesic?
Firstly, EIPP systems provide more than distributing PDF copies of your invoices.  For security purposes, with Fidesic, you can choose to not send actual invoices (or checks) as a PDF in an email, to allow your customers to securely access these documents online.  Also, Fidesic is able to read the actual numbers within your invoice, which allows Fidesic to provide the following added benefits: automatically notify customers when the due date of the invoice is approaching and the invoice is still outstanding, offer discount terms automatically to encourage early payment, provide statement online and a "total balance due" option automatically, allow electronic line item disputes on invoices to save your staff on phone calls, and many more.

How do I send invoices and checks from my accounting system, using Fidesic?
You install the Fidesic module on your machine.  When you have your invoice batch or single invoice ready for distribution...instead of selecting your local printer, you select the Fidesic print-to-web driver.

What are the requirements on my customers end? Do they need to be on Fidesic? Will they be charged?
The beauty of the way Fidesic works is that your customers can choose their level of sophistication.  For customers who want to go all electronic, Fidesic will distribute the invoice electronically and for customers who still prefer paper, Fidesic will deliver the invoices (or checks) for you via US Mail at a per transaction cost that is much cheaper than your costs of stuffing, mailing and distributing invoices and checks today.

My financial system already supports electronic invoicing!
That is great.  The questions to ask to determine if Enliven's EIPP system can add value to your organization: does your financial system allow you in one step to distribute all invoices or checks, regardless of the distribution method: paper or email?  or is there still a manual selection process?  Are your customers and vendors able to see status of their invoices or checks online? Can your customers and vendors go online and tell you they are ready to go electronic with you?
Are your payables processes also paperless?  i.e. can you receive invoices electronically from most of your vendors?  Can you route invoices received electronically through your organization for approval?  Do your managers/executives still sign paper checks?

Yes, any Windows-based accounting system can be supported.  Our support for Microsoft MBS Dynamics GP is the deepest in the industry.

When my customers pay online, how do I post the payments into my accounting system?
Yes, your customers can pay the invoices received through Fidesic online.  Even if the invoice was sent by paper, there is a URL in the cover page with instructions on how to pay online.
When your customers pay online, the payments are automatically deposited into your account within 1-3 business days.  For those payments made online, you do not need to manually apply the payment to the invoice within your financial system - Fidesic can do that for you!

Will I be able to continue receiving payments off-line through paper check?
Yes.  For paper checks received and posted manually to your accounting system, Fidesic offers you with a method to periodically upload your cash receipts to the online account center - that way, your online statements are constantly up-to-date for your customers.

Yes, Fidesic offers a full electronic payables system, which allows you to receive invoices from your vendor.  Enliven has recently developed a vendor recruitment program where our staff works with you to encourage suppliers to sign-up for the print-to-web service for the purpose of uploading invoices electronically for you. This saves a lot of manual labor for your payables department and gets you moving towards a fully paperless office.

Can vendors enter their invoices through a web form?
Yes, through our ePayables system, vendors can send PO's and invoices by typing them into a web form.  This may be appropriate for small vendors that do business with you. For larger vendors that have a real accounting system, they are encouraged to use our print-to-web solution.

Yes, through your vendor account center, the vendor knows when a payment is scheduled, and when it is estimated to show up in their bank account.

Due to the setup of our cost structure, we are able to deliver value to your organization regardless of the number of invoices or checks you distribute.  Your actual costs will depend on your accounting system, and any customizations needed for your scenario and business processes.  In most cases,  your cost is based on small per transaction usage.  There is also a small setup charge.  Call us for more information.

Can I use Fidesic to pay other businesses?
Yes! When you use Fidesic to pay the Fidesic member, you become eligible to send electronic payments to anyone with an email address and checking account. Just check your email inbox for a welcome email from Fidesic, follow the link, and log in using your current email address. You can send payments using a quick check form, and your payee will receive an email notification of your payment. You can also send invoices and receive payments.
